In New York we only offer stays of 30 nights or more priced on a nightly basis.
Tucked away on a quiet, tree-lined street is this utterly charming New York home. With three bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to six guests, Murray Hill Townhouse is a delightful mix of classical interiors and unique features.
Boasting some of the best architectural examples of Beaux-Arts mansions anywhere in the city, Murray Hill is a sophisticated and elegant neighbourhood. A visit to the Morgan Library & Museum gives you a glimpse of the world’s rarest books. Or experience a concert surrounded by Nordic-influenced refinement at Scandinavia House, before heading down to the 2nd Ave Deli for some of the most delicious matzo ball soup you’ll ever taste.
Murray Hill Townhouse wears its history on its sleeve. Built in 1856 and redesigned by renowned architect Larry Mufson in 2005, it’s a harmonious blend of old and new. The home has retained many of its original features, including the ornate marble fireplaces and mouldings, and the contemporary interior design emphasises the grandeur of the space. The entrance hall sets the scene with its iconic chequerboard pattern floor and wood panelling leading to the fully equipped galley kitchen and intimate dining room. On the second level, you reach the wonderfully light and airy twin living rooms. Here you can sink into plush leather furniture surrounded by succulent plants in rooms flooded with natural light.
The spiral staircase leads up to the upper levels where you’ll find the peaceful bedrooms and exquisitely finished bathrooms. The third level is home to a guest bedroom with a queen-size bed and a separate bathroom, while the fourth level houses the primary suite and second bedroom, both offering sumptuous king-size beds. A neutral colour theme runs throughout the home, allowing the traditional tiling to take centre stage.
Murray Hill Townhouse has a few final gifts to offer including a spectacular view of the SUMMIT One Vanderbilt from the skylight, and - that rarest of New York indulgences - a private garden. At the front, the grand exterior and those quintessential iron railings typify the character of the area, making this a highly desirable city retreat.
