In spite of its name, the beauty of Hollywood Pearl isn’t hidden away—its sleek, modern appeal is immediately obvious. Set in the Hollywood Hills with views of downtown Los Angeles, Palos Verdes, Catalina Island and beyond, the four-bedroom villa boasts three stories of cool white walls and glass-edged balconies. Minimalist interiors and architectural touches like floating stairs ensure that every room is kissed by the California sun.

You’ll want to spend most of your stay—or conduct a glamorous photo shoot—on the villa’s terrace. Lined in beautifully veined gray stone, it has a lounge area, swim-up bar, hot tub, an inviting row of chaise longues and a heated infinity pool that draws the eye out to the views of the surrounding hills. Stay outside a little longer and linger over dinner from the barbecue in the courtyard, or gather around the ultra-mod fire pit to taste a glass or two of California wine.

The great room’s fold-away glass walls and glossy white floors create a minimalist backdrop for whimsical furnishings like a striped lounge chair, beanbag-like cushions and colorful artwork, but a fireplace with a textured stone surround keeps the space from feeling like a gallery. The polished dining area treats guests to views of the Hollywood Hills along with dinner, and the adjacent fully equipped kitchen has both style and substance, with lacquer-look European cabinetry and Miele appliances.

There are three bedrooms in the main house at Hollywood Pearl and one in the guest house; all four have queen beds. In the main house, two bedrooms, including the master suite, have en-suite bathrooms, as does the bedroom in the guest house. Each space is serene and comfortable, but you’ll also discover unique modern furnishings and artwork that give the bedrooms true personality.

If you’re flying to the area, plan to arrive at Bob Hope Airport, about a 10-mile drive from the villa, or Los Angeles International Airport, a 27-mile drive away.
