Accommodation in Turangi, at River BirchesLodge includes your choice of 3 guest rooms. River Birches is a low-slung,cedar-clad luxury accommodation retreat set within a peaceful, establishedgarden. The stylish interior reflects its east-meets-west character – sophisticatedand welcoming. This Turangi lodge was recently awardedfirst place in a prestigious New Zealand Architectural competition,testimony to its understated elegance. French doors open onto a large deckwhere you can relax and enjoy the serenity of the Tongariro riversideenvironment.

In summer, join other guests for drinks andcanapes before dinner. In winter, share the day’s adventures over pre-dinnerdrinks by a roaring fire in the drawing room. • The Major’s Room
  Standing apart from the main house, the Major’s Room offers privacy andtranquillity within a lovely garden setting. Relax and enjoy the comfort ofthis beautifully appointed room featuring a bathroom with its own privategarden, i-pod dock, tea and coffee making facilities.

• The Duchess’s Room
